Google Notebook Launched
Google Notebook officially launched this week. With Notebook you can clip text, images, and links from the web. Notes are easily organized by creating multiple notebooks and dividing them into sections. Like most of the other services Google has launched lately, I personally think this one will be a dud. I am however a big fan of Google Trends, which we reviewed here.Microsoft to Begin Using Social Networking for Enterprise Search
Bill Gates annouced at Microsoft’s annual CEO Summit that they will begin using social networking techniques for it’s enterprise search technology. The software will automatically build profiles based on areas of expertise. This will allow companies to get inside the heads of employees and hopefully find some valuable information. The software will also allow workers to connect with each other similar to social communities.Snap Blurs the Lines Between Ads and Content
Sanp.com is going to start adding sponsored search listings in the mix with natural results. Snap is doing this to try and bring the most relevant results to users and sponsored ads will have clear distinctions.Yahoo Answers Creeping Into Search Results
Yahoo has reached 10 million answers for it’s Yahoo Answers service and will begin displaying the results within the regular organic results.Snap’s New Interface
Snap.com has a new interface for it’s search results and it rocks! Wehn you begin typing a query suggested queries are shown, ala Google suggest. They also have a two column view for the search results. Results show up on the left column, when you click one of the results a preview of the site is shown in the right column. I love what they’ve done.
