Taxi Cab SEO

You’re probably wondering the same thing as I was, what do taxi cab driver and SEO have in common? At first glance, nothing. At second glance, still nothing. So why did the taxi cab driver that took me to the airport from the SES conference say he was an SEO? This taxi driver claimed to have done organic optimization on websites for local taxi and shuttles services. What has this world come to?

Apparently, this guy thought that SEO was just a matter of putting keywords into content and meta tags. I had so many thoughts all at once that I couldn’t say a thing, but it made me realize how popular SEO is becoming and how truly underappreciated and misunderstood it all is. SEO’s do a lot more than just keywords and meta tags, and I think that companies all over are just starting to realize this when they try it for themselves. Sure, there are a few things that can be done, however things are getting more complicated and when that happens you need an expert. I’d say that hiring the local cab driver might not be the best idea, but that’s just my opinion.
