The power of fake commercials

Commercials are a great way to brand a company or a product. But what's even more effective is when others start creating their own fake commercials to make fun of your product. We have seen this with Apple's iPod and now we are already seeing this with Apple's iPhone, which isn't even released yet.

I couldn't agree more. In fact, Mitch over at Twist Image posted about how marketers will be able to guage the success of their videos based on how many parodies were made. Check it out: http://www.twistimage.com/blog/archives/000829.html

What's even more effective than that is when companies fake their own commercials themselves, or parodying them. I'm seeing confectionery products here in the UK where the companies are bastardising their own products. I used to specialise in this sh!t when I was designing t-shirts for www.shitstir.com (it was fun and lucrative, might take it up again)

p.s. don't worry about pimping Holiday Pad, I'm in the process of doing it myself ;-)

That was a good one.

What's funny is all of these gadgets are prophylactics whenever you ignore your significant other for them :)
