Guessing he can't answer - but perhaps he can just drop hints so we can figure it out - Q: Who were the A-holes that dropped his superbowl ad? :)

Lookin' forward to hearing the show.

We'll make sure to ask him that. :)

Hey guys I'm wondering how social media is being used to develop or engage a global audience and can you give any examples. Also what you should consider when developing social media for a global audience. (One example www.multilingual-search.com where you can read posts in several different languages). Can you think of others? Thanks!

Hey Cameron,

Here's a question for Rand:

Leveraging social media to drive traffic in terms of linkbaiting is something that was completely inconceivable even a few years ago. How successful do you feel the SEO industry is at spotting and maximizing the Next Big Thing?

Looking at the irrationally hostile attitude socially driven sites (read: Digg) have towards SEOs, even towards the legitimate 'white hats' that are producing legitimate content, why doesn't the SEO community band together to create another venue where their perfectly legitimate commentary would be more appreciated? What are the hurdles they have to overcome and is it financially feasible?

In addition, how can the SEO community change they manner in which they are perceived by social driven sites?

Why doesn't he respond to my emails :P

Question for Rand:

What is the optimal (from the SEO perspective) for blogs? Below are some examples: http://www.domain.com/post-title/ http://www.domain.com/category/post-title/ http://www.domain.com/year/month/day/post-title/

What is the Optimal URL structure, sorry it was missing.

While Digg & stumbleupon can already drive huge volumes of traffic to a site, the prospect of a social book marking & news breaking out from tech-y crowd into the mainstream really interests me.

Does he envisage several niche players popping up in differenet verticals or a small number of sites with different channels?

And which would he find more interesting

Question for the group:

Often when planning a linkbait/social/viral campaign, it is assumed that incoming traffic will be purely natural and/or viral with little marketing costs upfront. Would it be beneficial to spend marketing dollars in the pre-launch stages for text links, StumbleUpon impressions, and/or PPC ads to help kick-off the campaign? How else would you recommend "launching" a viral campaign?
