Buzz can hurt too

Neil Patel

A lot of people use the power of buzz marketing because it can do wonders for their business, but there is also a dark side to buzz marketing where it can hurt your company’s reputation. When your company has bad “buzz” it can spread like a wild fire throughout the Internet. With all of the new mediums out there, including YouTube, digg and del.icio.us, any type of news now spreads very quickly to a lot of people.
Recently a Comcast technician came to someone’s house to fix their cable modem…

A Comcast technician came to replace a faulty modem. After spending an hour on hold with Comcast’s central office, he fell asleep on my couch. I’ve been in my apartment for three weeks and my internet connection is still non-functional. This is my tribute to Comcast, their low quality technology and their poor customer service.

With over 150,000 views just on YouTube and coverage from sites like
Gizmodo, this one sleepy technician has really caused a huge mess for
Comcast.

    That’s hilarious! I hope it’s a wakeup call. ;)

I hope they change, I have even had bad experiences with their tech support. Every time it rains my modem goes out and it can take days if not a week for it to get back up.
